The Numbers

Everybody knows that Mr. Papademos is here to manage Greece's full default. But nobody tells.

Depreciation

The Greek state depreciates its citizens in a systematic basis. And they consent.

The dome

A dome is a difficult construction. All forces concentrate at exactly one point: the top. Any material will crack under enormous pressure. However there is an ingenious solution. The hole. You open a hole around the top and you put an iron ring. Thus, the static forces cancel each other before they reach a unique point.

The Greek deficit functions exactly as this hole.

Barbarians

If they oust us, what they would become without barbarians?

Tragedy of the commons

In Greece there is no any notion of common interest. The tragedy of the commons is an everyday music carpet.

Surprise

Hence surprise. The partners should have known better.

Two times

The bravery of Carolos was not at all big. He only mourned for his institute throne. He sits on it two times per year. Like a stopped clock which shows correct time two times per day.

Institutions

Institutions are respected and beloved only if the economy goes well. When the economy trembles then the middle class blame everything. And then everything crumbles. At every eon. New or old.

Mr. Rachenbach came the day before yesterday. Very quiet. With a modest statement in front of a small greek flag.

Ευκαιρία

Η Καλιφόρνια έχει φτάσει πολλές φορές κοντά στη χρεωκοπία. Ωστόσο δεν την φαντάστηκα ποτέ εκτός ΗΠΑ. Κι αυτό επειδή οι ΗΠΑ είναι πρωτίστως πολιτική ένωση. Είναι χώρα.

Οι Γερμανοί παίζουν με την ιδέα να αποβάλλουν την Ελλάδα από την Ευρωζώνη. Αν συμβεί τελικά, αυτό θα σημαίνει ότι η Ε.Ε. δεν είναι πολιτική ένωση αλλά μια πολύ προσωρινή οικονομίστικη ένωση. Στην αρχή το (χωρίς Ελλάδα) ευρώ θα πάει καλά. Μεσοπρόθεσμα όμως θα χάσει κάθε αξιοπιστία επειδή ακριβώς δεν θα έχει κανένα πολιτικό βάρος. Θα γίνει συνείδηση ότι οι ίδιοι οι εταίροι το βλέπουν σαν μια ακόμη μετοχή στην "Ευρώπη Α.Ε."

Τώρα είναι ευκαιρία για να δοθεί στο Ευρώ πολιτική βαρύτητα. Να γίνει αντιληπτό από τις αγορές ότι υπάρχει κάτι βαθύτερο στην Ευρώπη από τραπεζογραμμάτια.

Αδυναμία

Το μόνο που μπορώ να κάνω εδώ είναι να εξηγώ διαρκώς το γιατί γράφω εδώ.

Αλλαγές

Είμαι εξαιρετικά ευτυχισμένος αυτό τον καιρό. Παρά τις απίθανες δυσκολίες που κάποτε θα με έκαναν να λυγίσω. Ανακαλύπτω ξανά τον κόσμο. Ζω στο εδώ και στο τώρα.
